"WOO were formed by brothers Mark and Clive Ives, and began recording idiosyncratic yet alluringly beautiful music in their bedrooms. The brothers assembled their own music from a mixture of electronic and acoustic instruments, to create a unique and compelling sonic world that sounds like nothing else. Their debut album Whichever Way You Are Going, You Are Going Wrong was assembled with help from Mike Alway of él Records and Cherry Red, and released in 1982 via the band’s own Sunshine Series label. Woo have continued to release many albums of charming and quirky electronic music across a variety of labels and on their own Bandcamp in the intervening 44 years, amassing a cult following. Their long out of print debut album Whichever Way You Are Going, You Are Going Wrong will be reissued on January 16th. Clive Ives was kind enough to speak to OUTSIDELEFT’s Jonathan Thornton over Zoom about Woo and their remarkable musics..."
